Hi all wee update on the timescale for tying orders.
My better half was on holiday last week (at short notice) so I decided I needed to spend a few days with her but this has now put me behind in orders.
So if you’re still waiting for flies I apologize but there is a few days delay in sending orders. I will however add a few free flies to each order as an apology.
One of the days I took off with her she had to take her mum out shopping and I don’t do shopping lol So I went fishing with Connor instead. And it was such a good day it was only 7 degrees windy and with heavy squally showers and the showers made it bloody cold but that doesn’t put us off and it paid off big time. I started out using the bung with a peach egg (trout flesh) on the point at about 5ft down and a green goblin on the dropper at 2ft down and it was a very slow start.
Nice Rainbow for Connor on the Lure
I was picking up a few fish now and again Connor was the same. We decided lets not sit hiding out of the wind so we moved and started fishing right into the strong Northerly wind once more we used the bung we started to get take after take but due to the strength of the wind it was putting a big belly in our fly line so we were missing 90% of the takes.
Sunburst Yellow & Black Fritz.
I decided it’s time to try pulling a lure and yip you guessed it I changed to the Sunburst Yellow and Black Fritz and it was instant pull after pull. Connor by this time was still using the bung but was just taking the odd fish so I told him to change to the same as I wish I never told him we were on the same amount of fish to the net as each other until he started pulling the Sunburst Yellow & Black.
Nice Brown Trout for Connor on the Trout Flesh Egg.
I am going to cut the story short as we just sat in the same spot in the wind until we left as there was no point in moving as it was the same conditions on all the ponds and where we were fishing was the only place that the fish was taking. I ended up with 43 four more than the last day out so I was well happy. But for Connor his best day ever (Only been fly fishing for 2 years ) was 29 well I can officially say he has beaten that he landed up with 55 yes 55 and like me 95% of our fish was on the Sunburst Yellow & Black Fritz.
In two sessions we had 130 fish and most of these were on that Sunburst Yellow & Black Fritz. Sorry I have no videos of my landing any fish as Connor did not want to stop as he was having too much of a good time and he really wanted to catch more than me for a change.
