Are you trying to imitate real fish eggs? Well I have been asked this on numerous occasions and the answer is yes and no I personally think the egg flies you see nowadays are more an attractor fly than an imitation of real fish eggs. But at the same time if you are fishing a size 12 or 14 egg and its more of an egg colour Red, Pink & cream then I think you are trying to imitate an egg. But one thing I can say about egg flies is they are a must in any fly box as egg flies are fantastic fish catchers and can save meany a blank day.
