Loch insch Fishery Update.

⚠️ Important Fishery Update ⚠️

After carefully monitoring conditions over the past few days, we have made the difficult decision to close Loch Insch Fishery until further notice.

The recent spell of warm weather has resulted in water temperatures rising beyond levels that we believe are acceptable for responsible catch and release fishing. While some fish can still be caught, elevated water temperatures reduce dissolved oxygen levels and place significant stress on trout, increasing the risk of delayed mortality after release.

At Loch Insch Fishery, the welfare of our fish always comes first. We would rather take the decision to close temporarily than compromise the health of our stock.

We will continue to monitor water temperature, dissolved oxygen levels and the weather forecast on a daily basis. As soon as conditions improve and it is safe to reopen, we’ll let everyone know immediately.

☕ In the meantime, The Tickled Trout remains open as usual! Why not call in for a freshly brewed coffee, a delicious bacon or sausage roll, breakfast, lunch, or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings? Whether you’re catching up with friends, taking a break on a walk, or just enjoying the views across the lochs, you’ll receive a warm welcome.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. These decisions are never easy, but they are made with the long-term future of the fishery in mind.

Escape the ordinary. Fish Loch Insch ~ naturally.
